History of the Breed: The name "Briquet" means medium-sized and the name "Griffon" means wire coated and the name "Vendéen" is the area of
France the breed originated. The Briquet Griffon Vendeen is one of the four rough-coated breeds from the west cost of France in the Vendee region.
Believe to have descended from the Vendéen hounds of the Gris de St. Louis. This breed was severely reduced during World War II and is still
relatively unknown even in France.
General Appearance: The Briquet Griffon Vendéen has a short head and low-set ears, a dense and bushy double coat that is solid or
mixed in color.
