History of the Breed: The breed is over 700 years old and has served as cattle drover, war dog, guard dog, fighting dog pitted against
bulls, bears, and other dogs.
General Appearance: An ancient French breed of Mastiff blood line, bred for more than 700 years, the breed originally come in two
varieties, Dogues and Doguins, the Dogues being a much larger dog than the Doguins. The dogs are short-faced Molossers and have an enormous
head, massively built body and very imposing overall look. The head is coupled with deep wrinkles and a powerful jaw.
The short, sleek coat comes in all shades of red from fawn to isabella. All Bordeaux have a mask that is a deepening of color around the eyes
and muzzle, of either red or black. The nose color corresponds to the color of the mask.

Grooming needs: Low
Temperament of Breed: They make good companions, very attached to their master and affectionate. The males can be dominant.
Friendly with children: Yes, with proper socialization and training
Friendly with other dogs: Caution - socializing, training, handling, or management of this breed is critical. This is a large and very powerful dog capable of seriously injuring or killing other animals.
